Return to Grace and tell her that you spoke to the nine of the students but were unable to find the tenth. With Wisdom 14 or Intelligence 15, you can say that either you or Luis is the tenth student, xcriticalg 3000XP. If you don’t have the necessary stats, go down to the cellar, investigate the sensory stones in there and return.
Finam’s Book
You should know from Act 3 that he also works for Many-As-One, the Cranium Rat collective. Tell him (politely) that you are on a quest from Lothar. Or, buy the poisoned cheese from the merchant Giltspur in the Lower Ward and give it to Mantouk, who will immediately die. Of course you will still have to fight his Wererats after killing their leader. 😉 Search Mantouk’s body for his skull and a very interesting book.
Clerk’s Ward
Ask him whether he can train you and, if you have 14 Wisdom, you can persuade him to return to his teaching post in the Civic Festhall. Ask Saros whether he has any leads and he gives you Thildon’s awl, which he supposedly dropped while making his escape. Return to Thildon and ask him to explain and he’ll claim that it’s been missing for some time and Saros is trying to frame him.
Part 2: The City of Doors
Nordom joins at level 6, which is quite underlevelled by now. He is the only character able to use missile weapons, which gives him a unique selling point, at least. If you’re done with the Modron Maze, use the Portal Lens to leave. Make a save at this point because you can easily miss out on certain upgrades for Nordom. Go through the exit in the south to find the control room. Speak to the Modron in the circle to learn more and ask to try out one of the dungeons to learn that there’s been an accident.
Sebastion will tell you that Dimtree’s plight is part of a contract that he cannot back out of. Understand his dilemma for Law points or fail to give a rat’s arse for Chaos points. Read the book for 4000XP, return to Dimtree and speak the words that Sebastion taught you for another 4000XP. If you have the tomb plans, talk to Hamrys for 2000XP. Speak to Iannis again and tell him that you have come to collect the legacy of a young woman.
Back to Saros and present Thildon’s counterclaim. Saros now claims he witnessed Thildon doing the killing. Return to Thildon who retorts that Saros xcritical is an Anarchist and tried to recruit him.
The Temple of Elemental Evil
Afterwards, ask about Vivian’s scent again and she will point the finger at Marissa. Before leaving her room, you can pick the lock on the large chest and help yourself to the 233C inside. Ask him about his purpose and pursue that line of questioning. Finally, ask whether he can do anything with your weapons to open up his shop. She says that she is being sold into slavery for a crime that she did not commit.
