The Andhra new Capital Vijayawada city has conducted the Happy Sunday Programed at the business capital of the Andhra Pradesh. Indeed, even before the city woke up from its profound rest, the Mahatma Gandhi Road on Sunday saw a gathering of lovers’ unleashing heaps of fun and entertainment denoting the dispatch of “Glad Sundays”.

At the stroke of 6 a.m., youngsters and executives of Care and Share and other non-legislative associations slid on the normally bustling Veterinary healing facility intersection IGMC stadium stretch to partake in the ‘Glad Sundays’ drive brought about by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and the DEEP Trust.
Recreations, skating, cycling, small scale cycling, mono wheel cycling, music, move, juggling and other social exercises entertained the spectators for over two hours.Publicity drive

“The response is not very encouraging as it is the first event of the concept. We will certainly intensify our publicity drive. From next month onwards, Gurunanak Nagar, Pantakalava Road, BRTS Road, K.T. Road and Crambay Road under three circles of the municipal corporation will have Happy Sundays,” said Municipal Commissioner G. Veerapandian.


The Commissioner said such activity would soothe the nerves of the people from their stressful day-to-day life and the VMC had allotted special budget to conduct the programmed every first Sunday of the month.
He observed that the people came forward and took active part in all events. “It was a welcome initiative,” he added.
