Story:

Rajaram (Nara Rohit) is an aspiring film director. He prepares an action script but producers want him to write a love story. While he was making a short film, a beautiful girl riding Yamaha bike comes into the frame and he falls in love with that girl at the very first sight. She is Chaitra (Isha). She reciprocates. On the other hand, police are helpless in arresting a dreaded rowdy Manik (Tarak Ratna) who kills people ruthlessly for money. One day, Rajaram gets a letter from a producer asking him to write a climax for killing a ruthless don. Hoping that if he writes perfect climax, he may get chance to direct, he starts penning it.Who is that producer who is asking him to write, how is all this related to Manik? Some twists are in store in the later part of the story.

Artistes’ Performances:

Nara Rohit has gone for a slight change in his appearance in this film to look like an aspiring director. He seemed different though he still looks too stout. He is good in some parts.Tarak Ratna as the main villain is okay. His appearance is menacing but the characterization lacks depth. But Tarak Ratna can happily do negative roles from now onwards.Isha as heroine is okay. Shashank, CVL, Sivaji Raja and Ravi Varma have done a neat job.

Technical Excellence:
Stylized taking is main highlight. Bhaskar Samala’s cinematography is contemporary which has given the movie a distinct look. Sai Kartheek’s music is okay. Editing is not consistent, the movie has many dips in its pace. Action stunts are good.Stylized taking is main highlight. Highlights:

  • Some scenes in the first half
  • Stylized taking

Drawbacks:

  • Boring second half
  • Uneven pace
  • Unconvincing romantic track

Analysis:

In the beginning, Nara Rohit had picked up different scripts but these days he is coming up with half backed movies. “Raja Cheyyi Vesthe” adds to this list. The movie begins on a promising note by establishing how ruthless Tarak Ratna is. The first scene begins with him at a vegetable market and how he kills people. This episode sets the right mood. Then the director shifts to introducing Nara Rohit’s character of an aspiring filmmaker. Both these set up of characters is very interesting. Trouble begins there after as the director has focused on unnecessary aspects like romantic sequences of Nara Rohit and Isha.He has tried to package the movie as wholesome entertainer as he focuses on sentiment, romance, action, revenge, etc. But none of them are engaging enough. The new director has no grip on screenplay. Although the second half has its own moments, majority of the time it bores us with lengthy scenes, with boring flashback episode. All in all, the movie has some good moments but bores with unnecessary scenes and lengthy runtime.
