InFocus M680 :: Rs 10,999 phone looks promising
InFocus, the US-based company which ventured this year into the Indian market with its range of affordable smartphones, is all geared up to introduce a host of new products including TVs and Windows 10-powered laptops by February next year. In a bid to carve out a niche for itself, InFocus is primarily aiming at offering quality products at competitive prices. This week we got to play around with its newly released InFocus M680 smartphone that is priced at Rs 10,999.The InFocus M680 is 5.5-inch phablet and unlike other phones with large displays, this phone is just 7.6mm in thickness and weighs 158 grams, which makes it one of the slimmest and lightest phablets in this category. It has thin side bezels which offer a wider viewing area and comfortable experience when it comes to watching movies or playing games.
Disappointing observations made about the Android Lollipop-powered phone, which is powered by a MediaTek MT6753, 64-bit octa-core 1.5 GHz processor coupled with 2 GB RAM, is its not-so-satisfactory performance. Our review period was not only marred by sudden app crashes, but also witnessed complete freezing and device reboots. For instance, while playing a game, the device froze and it went into a continued vibration mode till it rebooted by itself. Although the company has assured for the upgrade to Android Marshmallow, it is unlikely if it would trickle to the device anytime sooner.Another highlight of the phone is its sound output through the speaker at the bottom. It offers loud output, but when played on full blast it gets slightly disturbed. The 2600mAh battery, on the other hand, is sufficient if you are an average user.
