Centre sanctions Rs. 23.6 crore water purification plants in AP
In Andhra Pradesh, for taking up community water purification plants in Prakasam district, the Centre has sanctioned 23.6 crore rupees. The Centre had approved drinking water projects to 53 fluoride-affected villages in the mandals of P.C. Pally, Veligandla, Chandrasekharapuram, Mundlamuru, Markapur, Pedaraveedu and Tripurantakam in Prakasam district, according to YSR Congress Whip in Parliament, Y.V. Subba Reddy. The Centre has also approved 88 crore rupees to ensure supply of surface water from Ramatheertham and Nagarjunasagar reservoirs to the fluoride-hit villages in the next four years.
